Michelle Heward is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has a special interest working with the people experiencing adjustment reactions, depression, anxiety, and stress management. Michelle believes working with you on how to figure out what’s happening emotionally, and that multiple outcomes are possible with a shift of perspective. She works on helping individuals identify triggers and coping strategies for physical, mental, and emotional symptoms of anxiety and depression.
Michelle enjoys working with adults who have issues related to life transitions and can be there to witness or remind you that you know your nature, you know yourself, and you can learn to like your faults. We all have them! Sometimes, it’s not about not being afraid, but about learning how to be afraid.
As a graduate from the University of Houston with a master’s degree in Social Work, Michelle’s clinical approach is from a client’s strengths perspective. Michelle believes her clients are the “expert” on their life; you know your own habits, and that everything that happens has a potential inspiration.
Michelle has a clear understanding of the medical model and military culture working within the healthcare environment, and at Camp Mabry. Her practice includes working with children, teens, and adults. Michelle is accepting new clients ages 12 and older.
