I have been in the counseling field for more than 6 years, mostly with hispanic population. My main experience has been working with depressive disorders, addictive behaviors, couples counseling, guidance and search of meaning, life transitions, counseling with a spiritual approach, family, kids, adolescents and crisis intervention counseling. Also, I have experience working in mental health hospitals settings, in outpatient treatments and in-home services with clients with mental disorders as ADHD, IDD and ASD. I obtained a Counseling and Addictive Disorders Master Degree from Bayamón Central University of Puerto Rico and also I have a Master Degree in Physical Education and Health Promotion from University Ana G. Méndez in Gurabo, Puerto Rico and Psychology and Mental Health Bachelor’s Degree from University of Puerto Rico in Ponce. I’m certified by the Board Of Examiners of Professional Counselor of Texas State and by the Board of Certified Counselor for the Puerto Rico Commonwealth. I can work with the following therapeutic approaches: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client Centered Counseling and Empathic Listening and the Trans-Theoretical approach for addictive behaviors.
During my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading or listening to audio books, listening to different topics or videos from ecology to kitchen. Also I’m an amateur photographer, listen to music from jazz to alternative rock, enjoy cooking, making road trips and visiting the Church. I’m also a home barista (very important too!). I enjoy following some automotive sports like Formula 1 and other sports like NBA basketball.
