Now more than ever in these challenging times of a global pandemic we often face working from home and even school from home. This has really created a shift and an unwanted lack of motivation. As we navigate through these challenging times it is important that we remember some fundamental items within our daily lives.
Your daily routines influence your quality of rest. Your sleep schedule and bedtime habits affect your mental sharpness, performance, emotional well-being, and energy level. When you create a schedule, you are establishing a routine. This results in having more structure and discipline in your life.
When we have an anchored routine, we can fight back against the uncertainties which may lead to stress and unhealthy habits. Below is a list of a few reasons why we should maintain routines and the added benefits to not only ourselves but others around us.
Relaxes you. Having a routine guide you in prioritizing which will create sufficient time to meet important tasks. Remember that stress is contagious when you are frustrated those feelings may spread to others like friends, colleagues, and family members.
Preserves your most valuable resource, yourself. When we essentially create routines and maintain healthy schedules, we are investing in ourselves. The most important investment is the investment within us.
Builds Self-confidence. When we stick with a routine it helps build self-confidence and gives s a sense of satisfaction. This provides us with the fuel to continue our routine and reap the benefits associated with it.
Makes us more efficient. When we have a routine that we follow daily, it reduces the need to make decisions each day without having to think too much. When we are finished with one task we know what comes next without much thought this makes us more efficient.
